Recent Fatalities at Dunedin.
DUNEDIN, Nov. 11. At the impost touching the death of Alexander Davis, who fell off a train at Port Chalmers on the night of the 9th the evidence went to show that the carriage, being of a new type with two steps instead of one deceased may have been misled in stepping aside while standing on the platform. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death, no blame being attachable to anyone. At the inquest touching the death of Henry Newly who died from injuries received by being knocked down by a trap in George Street on Saturday night the jury returned a verdict of death as the result of a buggy accident, ro blame being attachable to any person. The evidence was contradictory as to the pace at which the trap was driven, women describing it as terrible, while experts gave it as six or seven miles an hour.
