According to the report of the Inspec tor-General of Hospitals, the following aro the statistics for the New Plymouth Hospital for the year ending 31st March, 1903:—Numbar of patients on 31/3/02, 15, admitted 305, total 380, of which 252 wure males, and 128 females, discharged 335, died 25, remaining 20, averace stay 2145 days, average daily cost 6s 4), d, purcentage of cost of administration 26.56, or a little over one fourth. As showing tho effect the present favourable Sanson has had on the dairy industry, the Elthim Dairy Company are now making 92 boxes of butter, equal to two and a quartar tons daily, against 66 boxes for the same time last year. The output for the month of October was 2232 boxes of the estimated value of L 5135. For the corresponding month oi last year it was 1046 boxes, valued at L 3780. The milk supply is daily increasing, and past records will be easily beaten. On Sunday evening Mr George Aldridge, Evangelist or Auckland, delivered a stirinjr address on " The Atonement," Not only is he possessed of considerable oratrical power, but he handles his matter in a clear and logical way, driving home his points in an effective manner.
