A NOVEL LAWSUIT.
A MAYOR FINBD. PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION. DnNEDiN, October 29, The Mayor of Mornington was sued by a ratepayer for a breach of Section 68 of the Municipal Act 1900, in that he presided at a meeting of the Council when a resolution was carried giving free passes to the Councillors. Mr Carew, S.M., held that all Councillors had pecuniary interest, therefore the Act applied. He icflicted a fine of £1 and costs. .
