THE TRAIN SERVICES.
TO THE KDITOB, Sib,—la considering the abovequw* tion I hope attention will begivea to the running of the mail train so at to make it of real value in oonceotion with the chief passenger services from Auckland to the Bluff. The present vexatious delay in Wellington on tbo southern journey might be very easily ovarcome by a little common sens* being exercisnd in timing the train to arrive in Wellington to cutch the daily Hteimer for Lyttelton. If the train service were quickened and the departure of the steamer delayed a little there is no reason why passengers should not be landed in Duoedin in BO hours from Auckland. At present all mtiils and passengers from north of Palmers ton Nurth are delayed in Wellington far 20 hoars waiting fjr a steamer. Why this absurd arrangement is perpetuated is difficult to understand.—lam, eto., Paoaawa.
