Mr Arnced Porster was re-elected, polling 3912; Patrick Demaneev (Nationalist) 3671. Hon. A. Lyttelton was re-elected. polling 2689; Herridge 2499. Manr Liberals who, in 1900, voted for the Government rather than weaken the Miuistry over the Boer war, now voted for BeiridgP. Th* Education Bill was aleo a factor in the polling,
