A CONVICTION QUASHED.
FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION, Wellington, October 17. Mr Justice Edwards gave judgment in the appeal case in which Samuel Herriot, hotelkeeper, appealed against the decision of the Stipendiary Magistrate convicting him of selling liquor during prohibited hours. Mia Honor held that there must be positive proof, not merely suspicion, and upheld the I appeal and quashed the conviction.
