ODDFELLOWSHIP.
PUB PKKSB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, October 16. The Grand Mister and Board of Directors of the New Zealand branch of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows held the half-yearly meeting to-day. It was reported that new lodges had baen opened at Mataki (Ne'son), Te Anamutu, Hamilton, and Ashburton. Appropriations of surplus capital by the Britannia Lodge (£2000) and Antipodean Lodge (£3000) were approved. Or. an application from the Wei'ington district for a ruling as to appropriation of surplus standing to members credit for payment of contrite ions of brethren in distressed circumstances, the directors decided that the amount available as an increased funeral benefit could be applied in payment of sick and funeral contributions only, but that no surplus allocated fi.r reduction of members future contributions can be operated on. Is was resolved that the levy for the current yaar be four pence per member. A gold chain of office wa<j presented to the Grand Master for himself and nuc essors.
