REV G. H. COLE'S MISSION.
BtrOOEBBFOL OPENING MEETINGS. 5 A. trkmendoos crowd assembled in tbe Bank square on Saturday evening to ] hear the Rev. G. H. Oole, who was to ] speak at the close of the Salvation ( Army street service. Mr Oole gave a ; very forcible address, and was so suo \ cessfal in roaßing the interest of the ] public in his mission that his service on Sunday were excellently attended. On Sunday morning the rev. gentleman took the ordinary feryioe at Whiteley Church, when there was p, large congregatien, and on the subject "Love, what is it?" a very powerful discourse was given. The children's service was also well attended. At 2.30 the Theatre Royal was filled with women only, and a yery interestmeeting was held. During the service the rev. gentleman sang a solo with telling effect. The meeting for men only was also well attended, the speaker holding tho attention of his audience throughout. In the evening at Whiteley Chuvch the Rev. J. N. Buttle took the first part of the service, the church being packed to the doors. The Rev, G. H. Oole preached an exceedingly able and interesting sermon, taking for his subject "Christ reaching the masses," the service being a most impressive one, the preacher holding that the churches must use more of Christ's methods if they would reach the mass of the people. A large and representative 1 gathering of all sorts and conditions of . people followed in the Theatre Royal. During bis very characteristic address the Rev. G, H. Oole sang another solo, and the meeting dosed a series of exceedingly interesting and succassful opening addresses The services for the remainder of the week appear in our advertising columns.
