VOLUNTEER NEWS.
The usual monthly Bittalon Parade was held list night when, there was a fair muster of both corps. Threo reliefs under Colour-Sergeant Armitage were detailed for duty at St. Mary's Church on Tuesday. Both corp3 will the funeral of the late Archdeacon Govett in full dress with riflss and Bide arms. Fall in at 2.30 at the Drill Hall. The Taranaki Rifles Bazaar Committee will meet at the Dull Hall on Friday night. Class-firing will take place on Thursday and Saturday afternoons.
The Qovemment Armourer will inspect all rifles during the month. Messrs T. S.Weston, Jr., H. Weston, and G. W. Henderson were elected Ite honorary members, Captain-Ad-jutant Taunton waa also elected a life honorary member of the corps in recognition of his services to volunteering. A vote of thanks was passed to the same gentleman for his donation of photographs and pictures to the Rifles' Ordeily-room. Several members of the Rifles have ignored the fine notices served on tbt-m, but these gentlemen will probably fi,nd the nwtter more serious than tLey imagined. I
