Dunemn, September 26. The match between Otago and Canterbury was played to-day in the presence of about 4000 spectators, and resulted in an easy win for Otago by 20 points to 3. The game was pretty even in the first half, in which Canterbury had the advantage of a light wind, but in the second spell the visitors were completely outclassed both in back and forward play. Otago were more successful in getting the ball from the ecrum, and the local backs had, therefore, a better opportunity. The tries for Ofcago were scored by Given, Abbott, Stalker, and Baxter, two being converted by Miller, who also kicked a goal from a mark. The try for Canterbury was scored by Wood, after a brilliant run.
