She had her sails blown to ribbons, and was thrown on her beam ends in a gale, when she! lost her rudder and sprang a leak, making two inches an hour since. A steamer passed her on Thursday night' bnt took no notice of the distress' signals. j

Nelson's Bay reports state a large iron sailing vessel went ashore at Morna Point at four o'clock this afternoon. One boat reached land. No lives were lost, A heavy s:a is running. Received 28,1.4 a.m.

Nelson's B*y gives the name of the vessel as the Imora. It is supposed to be the barque Imora from East London ■to Newcastle in ballast. No further details are available. It is believed all bands got safely ashore. Fabis, September 25.
An explosion occurred on the French steamer Admiral Guedon, injuring her to each an extent that she had to be beached on the Arabian coast. The crew and passengers spent 46 days in tents under a broiling bud, but were rescued ultimately.
