Paeis, September 19. The steamer Kyarra from Adelaide had a sensational experience in a violent storm. An immenea wave struck and smashed several port', and flooded the dining saloon, Mmy in the bunks were thrown on the flior, and theie was great excitement, women and children screaming in terror, Tha wave broke above the bridge, and did preadamage to the furniture, crockery, deek cargo, fruit css c sbeing washed i.ff. The vessel was to for several hours to repair the damage. Later a aecend moi.' -r wave struck and did further damage. Melbjubkb, September 19. The official report of th« fire on the Pilbarra states that it was caused by aheep dip leaking on nitre bags, causing spontaneous combustion. Mr John Ogier, barrister, recovered £SOO damages against John Norton for libel published in the newspaper Truth.
