?Jsß PBESB ASSOCIATION. Thames, September 18. Phenomenal catches of fhb, principally schnapper, were made iu thu Hauraki Gulf by Thames fishermen. One boat reports 150 dozec, another 160 and a third a record of 240 donn. They were all splendid fish, and mostly caught at the new beds, which have greatly improved since trawling operations have ceased. The B.». Hinemoa left this Bfternoon with the lighthouse for Cape Campbell, made at the Thame?, on board. Tha lighthouse weighs 95 tons acd is 75 feet high, exclusive of the dome, which is not in the locil contract. It is the largest lighthouse built here. Th 6 boring scheme to which the public companies subscribe liberally, and to which the Government gave a I substantial subsidy, is now well under I way. The first bore is down 200 feet in splendid country. A second boring ! machine will arrive in the ciurse of a I few days* Great interest is taken in ' the operations. I
