The case against Mr Dineen, the leasee ofr the Railway Refreshment Rooms, for alleged s»le of liqu:ir on the sth inst. and with keeping liquor for dale was heard before Mr Wray, S.M., to-day. The Magistrate, in dismissing both information o , said there was no direct evidence that a sale had taken place and the stock which was found on the premises, and which was remains of the stock in hand when the license w«s taken away on June 30th, was not of a kind likely to be kept for sly grogseiling. The whisky looked suspicious, but defendant appeared to have plenty of friends and that was evidently why he kept it on the premises, J also think something should be done by the authorities towards the prevention of liquor going into premises of this sort.
