BAND OF HOPE.

Ths monthly meeting of the Whiteley Band of Hopp, which was postponed front Monday on account of the bad weather, was held last evening. There was a large audience, and the programme was entirely given by the juuior members of the Bard of Hops. Recitations were givan by Misses Mary Blarchett, Winnie Tichbon, Muriel Oliver, Beatrice Carter, and Ivy Mills, Masters Leslie Sole, Morris Oliver, Kenneth Shorney, and Warren Oliver; vood duet, Misses Ida and Mary Blacchett. Two maiden addresses were delivered, one by Miss Shorney on the importance to the boys and girls of the Band cf Hope Pledge, the other by Mr W, H, Shif ton on the slums of the great cities, and the need of Band tf Hope work to prevent such places in our colony. Mr Wm, Hayward occupied the chair.
