HOCKEY.
Per Frees Association. Wellington, August 29. The Wellington t. Canterbury hockey match resulted in a win for the former by one goal to"nil after a hard game. Heivy rain fell ten minutes before play started and continued to half time. The goal obtained was the result of a local rush into Canterbury's territory. The teams were very even. In the Ladies Tournament Palmerston North beat Aorangi (Wellington) 4 to 1.
