THE FRANKIaG PRIVILEGE. DEFERRING ACTION. ?EB PRESS ASBOOUTIOK. Wellington, August 29. A deputation of members and others waited ou the Premier and PostmasterGeneral to-day to complain of the withdrawal from Education Boards of the right to frank correspondence. The Postmaster-General said it had been found that in various department that privilege was abused, an J so many persons were authorised to frank that the Post Office oould not control the system. The Premier said the cost ef franked letters ran to £60,000 or X 70,000 a year. The notice given to Education Boards, however, appeared rather short, and he would ex end it for a month, Meanwhile the matter would be referred back to the Cabinet.
