Interesting reading matter will befonnd on page four of thi? issue. There was a very narrow eic&ue of an aocidentat the Devon street railway crossing on Thursday. The signalman in try ing to jump on the train slipped, and very nearly fell uuder the taain. The practice of allowing these men to jump on in the way they do should be stopped. In our report of the visit of General Babiqgton an error occurred. Only the officers were photographed, not 11)9 officers and men as stated.

At the parade yesterday the New Plymouth and Inglewcod corps were in scarlet, the Waitara and Stratford in khaki. The two latter men looked business like, but the scarlet, with helmets, certainly looks well for ceremonial purposes.

As the train was leaving yesterday, a volunteer had his helmet knocked off, and it got flattened out by a carriage wheel.
