The North Canterbury School Committees' Asioiution has passed a resolution th*t it was of opinion High Schools should be forced by legislation to take free pupils. The propssal to withdraw the franking privilege from secretaries of Education Boards is meeting with great opposition. The Chairman of the Taranabi Board on Friday received a telegram from the Marlborough Board stating it was strongly protesting against the proposal, and suggesting joint action. A reply was sent expressing the B jat d's willingness to eo-operate in the protest. A telegram was received on Friday by the Ohaiimanof theTaranaki Board from the Secretary of Education stating that bis telegram to the Minister on the franking question would be considered.
