At a meeting of the Soirh Canterbury Executive of the Fanner's Union to-day it was decided to form an Employers' Union and affiliate with the Farmers Union under role 16. Several members Bnerted that the apathy ebown towarde the Farmers' Union was due to its supposed inability to assist farmers in their labour troubles. Renin'iona were pissed against extecding the coun'y franchise to non-rate-payers, recommending the reduction of the sheep tax to Is, and the prohibition of the importation of bones owing to the risk of anthrax ; also asking for an additional member of the Arbitration Oourt to represent agricultural )- and pastoral interests.
