ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE.
fib raw* AaaoouTioi. Napikb, August 23. News has been privately received in town of a sensational occurrence at Dannevirke this afternoon. A railway engine-driver named McOluskie attempted to shoot his daughter, and afterwards to commit suicide. He used a revolver, and the girl, immediately on seeing this presented at her, covered her face with her hands, and the bullet passed between her fingers struok her head, traversing the skull for about 3J inohes, and then glanced off without inflicting any serious injury. The man then turned the revolver on himse'f and fired, the bullet striking his forehead, but failiog to penetrate the bone, McOluskie has been arrested and placed under medical care.
