FEE PEESS ASSOCIATION, Sydney, August 18. A private cable announces the death of Mr John Sanderson, one of the directors of the 6rm of Murray Robert and Co,, of Now Zaaland, at Ohriitchurch. Waxcunui, August 18. Mr James Duigan, editor of the Wanganui Herald, died this morning after a short illness, ag6d 60. After settling io this colony he was appointed postmaster at Charleston and subsequently was transferred to Wanganui, whore he purchased the Chronicle and cavried i$ on for a numbur of years, Ho af t«rward* sold ou 1 -.. He joined the Herald as editor in 1891 and continued in that position up to the time of his d;atb. Deceased was a Fellow of the Geological Society. He loaves a wife (daughter of the late magistrate Charles ; Broad) and twelve children.
