PING PONG.
Thk first ioterprovincial ping pong I match played in Wauganui eventuated on Thursday evening, when a team from }he Guards' CJlub, New Plymouth, met the T.Y.M.I. Club. The teams consisted of four men a side, and two rounds of 60 up were played, resulting !in a win for the local pKyera on seven tables. The pUy throughout the match ] was of a very high order, the game' between Messrs Baker and iSoler being <i particularly interesting one. Tbe detailed scores were: —Biker (Guards) 45 v. Soler (1,Y.M.1.) 60, Braund 42 v Andrews 60, Edgecombe 32 v. Williams 60, Tunbridge 35 v. Goldsbury 50, Bsker 60 v. Andrews 43, Edgecombe 23 v. N. Goldsbury 60, Ttinbridge 57 v. Willirms 60, Braund 30 v. Soler 60. Totals: Guards 394, T.Y.M.I. 463. At the conclusion of the match the visitors were entertained at a baoque*, when a very pleasant hour was spent. To-night the Guards play a team at Christ Ghurch Olub. Chronicle.
