GARRISON BAND SOCIAL.

That so large a number should have attended this social on such a soaking wet night showed not only that a warm interest is taken in the affairs of the band, but that an enjoyable evening was a matter of certainty. Certainly no pains bad been spired to make the Drill Hall look cheerful and attractive in marked contrast to the dark and stormy weather without. That all present thoroughly enjoyed dancing to the good music provided by Mr Rouutree's orchestra, and on an excellently prepared floo-, was evident to the most casual observer. The suprer provided by the ladies was more than usually choice and abundant, and all the other arrangements were equally well cared for. That the social was sucn a distinct success was due to the service of ladies who have had great ezperienco in such matters, and the cordial thanks of the Batd are due to Mesdamts R Oock, E, M. Smith, Dockrill, F. E. CHaike, Riley, Joseph, W. Bennett, F. Richards, O'Driscoll, R. Jury, and Misses Smith, Gold water, Nichol, Hopkinscn and Josephs. Sergeints Smith and Gold water made very efficient M's.O., and Bugler Hopkins gwe the Ladies 1 Committse valuable help. During the evening the new bandmaster, Mr Got don, wss accorded a formal welcome by Drum-Major Goldwater.
