A CASE FOR INQUIRY.
PHE PRE 33 ASSOCIATION, j Westpoht, August 8. At the Magistral's Court Adjutant Trask applied to have Corporal Powell of the Westpart Girrison Artillery committed to gaol for refusing to pay a fiae of 10s imposed by Captain Oarr for allegvd insolent language. Defendant denied the offence, and said he had appealed to Colonel Wolfe, bu", thtt officer had confirmed the appeal without giving him a hearing, and that hei (Poivell) bad lodgtd an appeal against Cjlonel Wolfe's confirmation, but tint officer had refused to forward it to headquarters. It is stated by defendant that one of the sergeants in the corps had certified to witnessing the rffence although he was not present. The Magistrate refused to commit defendant.
