CHARGE OF EMBEZZLEMENT.
PKK PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wanqandi, July 30. Ia the Police Court this morning J. 0. Ptiestly, manager of the Muoicipil Opera House, was charged on five different informations with failing to account to the Borough Council for monies received by him for the rent of the Opera House and booking for entertainments to bd held, Counsel for the accused applied to have the oaee dealt with summarily as each charge involved a snm of under £lO. The Magistrate expressed a doubt whether a matter involving embezzlement by a public servant shou'd so be dealt with. Accused had signed an admission of guilt. He was committed to the Supreme (Jourt for trial.
