Hokitika, July 29. A young man, Albert Labe?, a winebmin on the Greenstone Creek dredge, was caught in the gear and his Ivsft arm was torn off at the elbow and the flesh strippid to the shoulder. He is in a very critical condition. He was only at work a week. Donedis, July 29.
William Marshall, aged 23, left home 1-st night and did not return. H ; s body, with the throat cu", was found this morning in the water near Logan's point. Deceased had been ill and despondent for some time. The bo ty of Divid L:e, an old resident of Port Chalmerp, was found in the harbour this afternoon. He was last seen on Saturday night going in the direction of Georgo-street pier, which, being indifferently lighted and with a double lice of rails, is somewhat dangerous at night, and ho is supposed to have fallen in.
