Pursuing his policy of dealing severely with sly-Krog selling in the King Country, Mr Northcrofr, S.M., sentenced J. Murtagh to two months on two charges.

The Mahoe School Committee have recommended Mr A. J. Harding, D 4, the fast of a list on five applicants sent them by the Education Board, as teacher for their school AMr Kirkpatrick, from Gisborno, has been appointed temporary teacher at Denbigh-road during the illness 'if &?r Gush, who has been ordered a months rest.
The improvements to the Government buildings, fur which no tender was received some time ago, are now beimj carried out by day labour. Considerable improvements are being effected in the lighting, ventihtion, and arrangements of some oi the iooms in the upper story. Mr J. G. Harkness. the newly appointed secretary of the National Dairy Asso ciation, haa been eltcted President of the Institute of Dairy Secretaries. Mr R. W. Neal, the cash clothier, has a price list in this issue which should attract attention. Not onfy are the prices extremely low, but the articles can be relied on, so thac those in need of clothing, rugs, blankets etc., should give him a call.
The foundation stone of the Stratford Technical School will be laid by the Hon C. H. Mills' to-day. Ihe members of the Education Board, Chairman of the High School Board, His Worship the Mayor, and othor public men from various parts of the district are expected to be present.
A {reminder is Iven of the afternoon concert at Te Henui Sunday Sohool today. An excellent programme has been provided, and refreshments will be served to those present.
