Tha direotr.r of the Asiatic section of the Russian Foreign Office, interviewed by an American news agency, used extremely provocative language regarding Britain and Japan, accusing Britain of extreme duplicity. He declared that Russia could crush Japan to sand, and wis not afraid to fUht five powers.
The Japanesa Minister in London, when interviewed, stated that war with Japan was a very long way off. Any disagreement would doubtless be settled by arbitration

The leading Japanese newspapers write catml; and confidently on the rituition. They declare the action of Russia in increasing her military and naval forces in the far East is for the purpose of intimidation.
