W. J. Ford, in a letter to the Times, declares that MacLaren's proceed ure is unpatriotic, and that his excuse on the grounds of etiquette is a poor one. He expresses the opinion that it will be impossible 6ver to send a representative team unless amateurs are compensated for loss of income. Bitting averages: Pry 88, Warner 52, Hirst 49, fyldeeley 47.5, Bosanquet 41.5, Hayes 40, Hayward 36, Arnold 34, Bmund 28, Rhodes and Lilley 27, Relf 23. Bowling analysis: Hirst 76 wickets for an average of 12 runs, Bosaoquet 16 wickets 16 runs, Fielders 43 wickets 16 runs, Rhodes 100 wickets 16 runs, Rslf 79 wickets 18 runs, Braund 94 wickets 20 runs, Arnold 77 wickets 21 runs.
