Mr G. L. Shaw on Tuesday morning found the body of a large octopus on the beach between Mikotahi and Paratutu. rt had evidently been dead for some days, and had been washed ashore. The feelers >f this marine monster were 19 feet long. The tentacles, which were armed with powerful suckers, were six feet long, and 15 inches in girth, while the body was 11 feet 3 inches in length, a-d 3 feet 7 inches in circumference.
