The receipts amount.'d to £12,105,000, being £535,000 above the estimate, the increase being due to a larger amount of sugar imported than expected,<and heavy imports of grain. He estiroa'fs receipts for next year at £11,566,000 or £539,000 le-s than last year, the principal decrease being ia customs. The amount of anticipated return to the States wi'l fall short of las) year's amount by £949,000. Brisbane, July 28. A girl named Chalmere, age J 14, deliberately set her niece, aged four, on ire. The child died from the injuries. The girl is eupposed to be insane. She is to ill to be aires'ed.
