ANTHRAX.
OUTBREAK ESTABLISHED. FXK PBBS3 ASSOCIATION. Wellington, July 21. Mr. Qiltubb, ch'ef Government veterinarian, t 1 vreseived specimens of blood from ,*j of the five head of cattle which d'ed at Pukekohe, near Auckland, last wesk uider circumstances suggesting anthr.x. A minute examination revealed myriads of anthrax bacilli, establishing beyond all doubt that the animals bed died from the draaded disease. The owner of the cattle had cremated tha dead bodies of the cattle before the arrival of the Government vet., but the local veterinary had taken the precaution of securing blood specimens from the diseased Bt*k.
