It was decided, tutject to tbe recommendation cf the medical s'aff, to give a £ for £ subsidy for an artificial leg ft Leotard, a Maori inmate of the Home. The Inglewocd Borough Council wrote declining to rectgnise any liability incurred in connection with John Flay. The names of Misses Beatrice Berry (Pate*) and Emily N. Rive (Masterton) are to be placed on ths outside list of probationers. The Egmont County Council wrote inquiring as to representati mon tie Board.—The Olerk stated ha had informed the County that no steps could be taken in the natter till 1904. The House-Surgeon at Rotorua wrote inquiring if tbe Board wished to continue their guarantee as to James Davidson whose complete cura was not to b? expected, but who had improved considerably though slowly.—Time extended for a month. Mr Green tubmittei detiils of proposed scheme of b:autifying hospital grounds. Several applications for reduction of charges were dealt with. The Custodian of th? Home reported that Malum Divers, who had been handed ovar to the police on the ground cf alleged icsanity had been pronounced by two doctors as saue and taken back to the Home by the police and refused admittance. Dr. Bennett- waited on the Board and stated that both he and Dr. Walker, who hid had the case under observation for soma time, considered the man was insane and recommended be should not be re-admitted to the Home, which was not a lunatic asylum.

The mittar was referred to the chairman with power to act f fcer consulting the Board's solicitors. On the motion of Mr Gray, a vote of thanks was accorded to the committee, who successfully negotiated the terms of the separation with Hawera. Accounts were pissed as follows: Hospital £327 83 lid, charitable aid £2OO 6i 7d.
