The Ohitf Postmaster is entitled to Considerable credit for the smart delivery of the 'Frisco mail at New Plymouth, Immediately on arrival of the mail at the local office sorters were put on and a delivery made into the private boxes, the letter box lobby being kept open, and boxhdders were able to get their letters soon after ll p.m. This is a very creditable performance reflecting great credit on the staff, and greatly appreciated by those who were in receipt of correspondence by the mail, Chbistchurch, July 13. A heavy flood in the Waimakariri rendered the railway biidge unsafe. The morning train from Christchurch to Gulverden cros?ed eafely, but the down train wss unable to get through and passengers had to walk across. The extent of damage to the bridge is not yet known.
