FIRES.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Haweha, July 10. A nice-roomed housa at Manutabi, owned by R. B Hamilton, and occupied by Remnant, was totally destroyed by lire with the ccn'ents. The origin is unknown. The building was insured for £4OO and the furniture 4150. Marton, July 10. Mr J. G. Wilson's fine res : d«nce at Bulla narrowly escaped being destroyed this morning. A fire was discovered in the lining near the chimney of the dining-room, and the flames quickly spread to the roof, but were suppressed after much trouble. The damage, chiefly caused by water, is estimate J at over £IOO. The building was insured in itbe Farmeis' Co operative Association. Mr Wilson is away in Wellington attending the Farmers' Conference.
