WHITELEY HALL.
The first ef a series of concerts in aid of the Wesleyan Sunday School was held in the Whiteley Hall on Thursday evening, when there was ail excellent attendaccs. and the affair proved to be an unqualified success in every wu.y. The Rev. J, N. Buttle presided. The programme, which was varied to pleaea al', was thoroughly ecjoyad, encores .being the order of the tveuirg. The concert opened with a pianoforte so o by Mrs Pope. The ladies who cntributed vac il solos were Blisses Feltham, Campbell, Nixon, Ambury and B.own, whilst duets were given by Mesdames Shorney and Pikett, and Misses Oollis and M. Campbell. A feature of the evening were three pianola stlections by Dr. Leatham, which were enthusiastically received. •Messrs Lee, Veale atd Ryan contributed songs, the latter gentlemm [receiving well deserved encores. Mr Christopher was also encored for bis realistic desription of Rubenstein's piano recital, when he gave the " Am*taur Rider." Mr Duckworth alto de lighted the audience with a clover exhiof clubswinging, for which ho was eccored. List, but not least, was a humorous ventriloqur<l entertainment ;by Mr C-'llior, wlrch sent overyone home lunging, Tbe accompanists were Missis Douglas and Shorney.
