MAORI GIRLS SCHOOLS BAZAAR.
AN IMMENSK ATTRACTION. The chief attraction for to-day is the opening of the baz>ar in aid of the soho 1 for Maori girl?. Throughout yesterday the committee, assisted b) the Wanganui natives, were hard at work in making the Theatre Royal suitable for the occasion, The stage has been converted into a Maori village, in which will be seen scms carved bouse?, together with a food store, thwhole being made as complete as possible. A great feature of the bjzaa' will be tb.3 sale of work, over XIOO worth of go-ds will be off-red to visitors, and, as many oF the articles are vary choice, having been imported direct from Knghnd, excellent business should result. His Woiship the Mayor will perform the opening oareonony at 230 thir afternoon, acd will give a short address, as also will (he Rov. F. A. Bennetf. There will then bs given by the Maori* a haka of welcome and a s >ng, and they will also, during the nfternoon, (•ir.g soma of their quaint melodies. Miss H« ldsworth nan also promistd to on tribute a voaal i'em, so that a most eijoyable time may be anticipited by the visitors.
