The police paid visits to the Newtown hotels to-day, and made purchases of liquor with a view of future proceedings. All the hotels are keeping open despite thu r, fusil of the Committee to issue licenses. REVOKING A CLUB WUKTBR. ..^ A&HBUETON, July 1. A meeting of the executive of the dub was at once held, and it was decided to close the bir and csntinuo to sell liquors in the Club rooms in Order to test the right of the 0. lonial Secretary to revoke the charter, which was granted in 1886.
Donedin, July 1. The port hotels opaned this morning, but clo-:ed almost immediately. The Milton hotelkeepers closed last night pending the decision of the Appeal Court,
Nafieb, July 1. In accordance with the reduction vote five of the hotels in the town and port were closed to-day and the whole of the hotels closad at 10 o'clock to-night for the- first time.
