DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. V ntR PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, June 24. A deputation representing the Fire Brigades Association waited on the Premier to gain information as to the Intentions of the Government concerning fire brigades legislation this session. The Premier seated that as far as the Government was coDcemid there would be no alteration from what had been hid down in the previous Bill. The Government thought the Fire Brigades and State fire insurance proposals might prejudio each other if they were included in the same measure, so - ' they had decided to make them separately. The Fire Brigades Bill which would be on the lines of that wh : ch pissed the Lower Hoase about 1881, * would probably ba brought down in the first month of the session.
