CARDINAL VAUGHAN. PXB mess association. Received 21, 5.30 p.m. London, June 20. . Cardinal Vaughan, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, is dead. [His Eminence Dr Herbert Vaughan was born in April, 1832, and ordained a priest in 1354. He founded and was president of St. Joseph's Missionary College, Mill Hill, Middlesex. He filled the office of Bishop of Salford in 1872, and was elected by the Popo to the See of Westminster in 1892 on the death of Cardinal Manning, being created a Cardinal a year later. He was a great preacher, writer, and temperance advocate.]
