EXPLOSION OF LYDDITE SHELLS.

VSSL PRESS ASSOCIATION. London, June 19. By the bursting of a lyddite shell at Woolwich, 14 people were killed and 13 wounded. [The cable which preseded and is the key to that published in Saturday's issus was withheld from u?.—Ed.] RESULT OF INVESTIGATION. IfRENOH SYMPATHY. Received 21,5.22 p.m. London, June 20. After further investigation officials declare seven 92 inch shells exploded, representing 322!bs of lydditp, and 31711bs of steel. A piece of shell weighing 31bs was carried a mile and a half into the Albert Dock. General Andrew, on behalf of the French Army, sent a warm message of sympathy with the sufferers by the explosion. Mr Brodrlck replied thanking him for bis great kindness.
