ESCAPE FROM GAOL.

Howard put his arm through the observation hoi-, and shol the bolt back, got in'.o the ) ar.l, climb d over a 12 foot iron-topp d wall, and escaped. He has cot yet been recaptured. Howard was under anvst for assault oa Michael (Lughlan, of Brook Valley. I/ißj night ha threatened to assault Ooughlan's daughter, The f«th-r oa ted him and ha attempted to brain Ooughlan with an axe. The 1 itter got an arm broken trying to defend his head.
Howard was formerly concerned in a juvenile bußhrangers' camp at Mauagatapu some months where large quantities of stolen goods were found,
