LICENSING COMMITTEES.
FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Hamilton, June 10. The Waikato L'ceosmg Committee ranewed all licenses at Hamilton exc»pt the National, Criterion, Masonic, Gambridge, and Te Awamutu Hotels, which will be decided at an adjourned meeting, and the Harbour View and Royal at Raglan, which were postponed to allow time for repairs. The district health officer gave evidenoe necessitating considerable sanitary improvements in all tha Cambridge hotel?, and the committee wil inspect them. Ten o'clock licenses were granted. Haweba, June 10. The Hawera Licensing Committee granted all license*, with an extension of the closing hour to 11 o'clock. A letter was read from the Licensed Victuallers Association suggesting that in cases of proposed change of lioense a certificate as to applicant's character should hi obtained from tbe Association, as this would prevent hotels from getting into unsuitable hands. The Chairman said thit under this system objection might ba made to a suitable man. However, in future, he would ask for a report from the Association.
