TROOPERS' MEMORIAL.
Per Press Association. Duhkdin, June 10. A memorial to fallen soldiers wa« unveiled at Palmeraton South, in the presance of a large gathering, by Mrs ' Gow, wife of the Mayor. Addresses were delivered by T. Mackenzie and I others. The monument consists of a rundsomecaived Oarrara marble figure of Zeilaodia holding a wreath in the I left hand, the other pointing skyward, surmounting a black marble block, beautifully moulded, on wbioh is inscribed the in me s of the fallen soldiers The wh le is supported on bases of blue stone. Ihe total height is 16ft, | the figure being sft. The cost was defrayed mostly by shilling subscriptions.
