CANADA'S PATRIOTISM.
BRITISH OWNED STKAMER BERVIOB BKQUIRM). PBB PBBBB ASSOCIATION. Ottawa, June 8. In Maroh last the Canadian Government invited tenders for a British owned Atlantic steamer service, the Teasels to steam from 18 to 21 knot*. One of the conditions was that the vessels should not call at any foreign port. Only two tenders have been received, one from the Dominion line and the other frcm the Allan line. The Dominion tenders for a fortnightly service with vowels of 21 kno's, alternating v»i h vessels of 16 knots, and asks for a subsidy of £200,000 per annum, with sea postal freights. The Allan line tendered for a rimilar service, and asked £300,000 as subsidy. The Canadian -Pacific Railway Company declined to tender, preferring an all the year round service of 20 kno's. There is a strong feeling in Canada against accepting any service controlled by Fierpont Morgan's syndicate. It is understood at Ottawa that the Government will tot accept either tender, owing to the stipulated restrictions.
