THE TILIKUM.

THS HOST WONDERFUL VESSEL IN THK WORLD EXHIBITED AT NEW PLYMOUTH, Tbs famous little-vessel is new on exhibition in New Plymouth. On Monitj evening she was lifted oat of tha water by the- Hirbour Bjard crane (she . weighs just * ton and a half) and put on a long timber track and railed up to town. Being unable to get the Drill Hall, Captain Voea has sscared a larga teat which has bean erected nsxS door to McEwen's boot factory. To-day and ' for a few days she will be on exhibition, and Captain Vosa will lecture on his trip, experiences, and the various places and peoples he has seen during his long ocean voyage cf 13,000 miles. His! shipmate, Mr Buckeridge, who was farthest south in the antarctic ship j Discovery, piior to which he wes in all the chief engagements of the Boer war, will also lecture cn his experiences and adventures by sea and land. A number of marine cari»)itieß, picked up in the course of their travels, will also be exhibited. No one should miss seeing thia handsome canoe yacht, which holds the record as the tmillest vessel that has ever crossed the Pacific Ocean. She la only four tons harden, and it seems incredible hovr so small a boit could live in such seas as she must have met with. Country settlers and school committees should see that every child sees this little ship. Such a cbance may never occur again, and it would be something for a boy to remember all their lives. Captain Toas is also a wonderiul man to have started on such a p-r lous undertaking and carried it out so far successfully. Every colonis": shou'd be proud of Captain Yos?, who is also a British colonist and a Canadian by birtb, who

ia determined to put up the record of having carried the Union Jack round the world in the smallest vessel afloat. On leaving New Zealand Captain Yoss goes to London and thence to Canada and will take his boat up the St. Lawrence through the great likes to Manitoba, the furthest west he can gat by sea. He will then rail her to Victoria, (British Columbia), his starting pal at. We venture to'siy that this will be a record that will not be beaten in a hurry. Captain Yoss is an ideal sailor with pluck and determination stamped all over him, and is a most genial entertaining companion. He is also most retiring in his disposition and makes light of bis difficulties and the lingers he has faced and tells his story as if lis doings were an every day occurrence. We trust Captain Voss will have no occasion to regret his visit to New Plymouth and feel 6ure everyone who has the ptivilege of meeting him and his shipmate and of inspecting the famous little Tilikum will never forget it.
