NORFOLK ISLAND.
Per Press Association, Sydney, June 2. H.M.S. Royal Arthur, with the Governor, ha* returned from Notfulk Island after a rough passage. Sir Harry Bawson investigated the grievances of the inlanders and pointed out the advantages that would accrue by the island being annexed to the Commonwealth instead of toNew South Wales. He informed them that he intended to nominate an Executive Council to administer the island. The first Council would comprise Messrs Macev, Quintal, Frarcie, Nobbe, Johns, Ycurg, Dr. Mi-tenlle, A'len, Buffet, Alhort Bates, Csptain Fletcher, and Quintal. This Council will exist for a year and thereafter it will be elective.
