The following are the results of Thursday's matches: — BENIORB. OLIFTON v. STAR. ISo game was played. Each team kicked off in a different ground. INGLEWOOII v. STRATFORD. Inglewood bsat Stratford by 8 to 7. FIRST JUNIORS. STRATFORD v. STAR B. Won by Star by 3 to nil, Bellringer securing a try. TUKAPA V. INGLEWQOD. Won by Icglewood by 3 lo nil. SHCOSD JUNIORS. STAR B V TUKAPA. The referee declined to allow the Star team to go on the field as they were not equipped in club colours. TARANiKI RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Taranaki Rugby Union was held at the County Hotel, Stratford, on Monday evening. Present : Messrs Buchanan, Slattery, ,Spurdle, Olark, and the Secretary. Mr Bellringer forwarded an apology for his absence. Mr Buchanan was voted the chair, and intimated that the Clifton First Juniors were going to forfeit this season's engagements. They could not keep together. He also moved that all matches in the north division set down for the 4th June be played on the 2rd, as that date was a public holiday. —Carried. J. Hooker notified the fo< warding of annuals and asked for instructions as to disposal of,balance in hand. Mr De Coster forwarded a report of his action at the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union. —Resolved to thank Mr De Coster. '

The Thames Rugby Union wrote saying that they could not yet give any definite information as to whether they could play a match with the Taranaki Rugby Union this season.—Resolved [that the Secretary write urging an early settlement. A letter was received from N.Z.R.U. stating that only a referee could report a player. The .Nelson Rugby Union wrote thol: they were undecided as to what .matches would be played this year. They asked that the Taranaki Rugby Union team include Nelson in the southern- tour. The Taranaki team owed Nelson a visit.—Resolved that the Nelson team was to have visited Taranaki last year, and that the Taranaki Rugby Union expect Nelson to i .pay the visit on the terms of last year. The following reinstatements were granted by the Executive on Friday, 14thStimpson (Ioglewood), from seniors to first juniore; Davidson (Stratford), from first to second juniors. Confirmed.

Mr Proctor wrote saying that the Star B second juniors v, loglewood match was not played owing to the late arrival qf the former team.

The Secretary of the Star Olub wrote saying that it was through no

fault of theirs that the matches with Inglewood were not played. They claimed the matches as Inglewood did not play at Inglewood and would not come to New Plymouth. The secretary was instructed to 'write'to the secretaries and referees for further information.

The secretary of the Star Football Olub wrote suggesting that a Postponement Committee be established. Teams often had to play in very bad weather.* Lstter received.

The secretary of the Star Olub wrote stating that they had paid the Tukapa Club £2 10i, being half share in the expenses of Mc Simpsop, a referee from Waoganui. They had since ascertained from Mr Simpson that bis expenses hod only amounted to .£3 10j. They had asked Tukapa for a refund, but the request had not been complied with. They therefore reported the matter to the Union.—Resolved that the secretary write to the Tukapa Club for an explanation. The Star Club applied for the Te moval of the disqualification of Hari greaves.—Not entertained. I The Star Club wrote asking for a ccpy of tte evidence taken at the icquiry of the Management Committee regarding the Siar-Tukapo distuibance.—Received.
