The Wellington Rugby Union have for Boms time hid under consideration a scheme for providing an allowance to football players injured daring matches played uader the auspices of the XJnion, and they have now puh the matter on | a definite footing. The arrane'ment arrived at provides for aub of a guinea each from teams entered fur the senior, junior, and third and fourth class competition", and 10s fid for fifth cl« 3 teams. Teams taking part ia Wednesday competitions also pay a guinea. An allowance of £1 per week up to 10 weeks is to be paid any injured player, free medical at'endance being provided in caee of minor injuries. The Union will pay £2O yearly into ths fond to mike provision for senior and juoi-jr subsidised teams.
